The program has a unique curriculum and is modelled around Singapore Math program. The program is designed exclusively for preschoolers and primary school students of ages between 4 and 12. Hallmark Approach Sdn Bhd is the Master Franchise of SAM. The company was founded by CK Gan & KK Lee—the dynamic duo. Mr. Gan is the company’s MD who is both well-qualified and experienced. He has a degree in Actuarial Science and has worked with multinational companies such as Kodak, Overseas Assurance Corporation and Agfa for over 20 years.
Mr. Lee is the OD (Operations Director) & SAM (Seriously Addictive Maths) Certified Trainer at SAM Malaysia. He has a Physics degree from MU (Malaya University) and has a rich experience in teaching mathematics to students.
Bridging the Ever-Increasing Gap
Launching SAM by Hallmark Approach Sdn Bhd was not as challenging as getting accepted by the people. SAM was devised and launched to bridge the ever-increasing gap between the Mathematics curriculum and its delivery to preschoolers and primary students. This gap was created after the introduction of HOTS (Higher Order thinking) education.
On the other hand, since SAM was modelled after Singapore Math, introducing it to Malaysian students was also a challenge that the company was up against.
The company was able to conquer these two challenges successfully because of its unique way of content delivery, timing and frequent training to SAM teachers by experienced international trainers from Singapore. The program was introduced at the right time. Had the gap that was being created by the introduction of HOTS been increased, it would have been more difficult to bridge the gap.
